Latest Tattoo 2010

In recent years, the tattoo is enjoying something of a renaissance. A short time
ago, the only people with tattoos were sailors, soldiers and scruffy groups who
listen to certain music styles. Nowadays, you're just as likely to find your mum
browsing the latest tattoo design magazines as you are the latest punk rock star.

The reason for this has a lot to do with the improvements in tattoo technology;
this has enabled real artists to make real their designs, where as before it was
quite difficult to transfer what was in ones mind, to ones body. Now it is most
common for the very best tattooists to have formal fine art or technical art qualifications.

Gone too are the preconceptions about tattoos, in the past we may have been
swayed by the way Hollywood portrayed film baddies, often they would have
tattoos to add to their menacing veneer. This has now gone full circle as many
of the newest celebrities; especially those younger ones proudly show off their
latest tattoo designs.

Two celebrities that have embraced tattoos and body art are Robbie Williams
and David Beckham. Williams prefers to select tattoos based on their artistic
merit, while Beckham's are a public statement of love for his family.

Whatever your views are about tattoos or body art, there can be no disputing
their contribution to modern art. At the very top end of the tattoo profession,
a handful of skilled and experienced tattooists compete for the major tattoo
body art awards. Confirmation if it was needed, that tattoos and body art
are now part of the mainstream.

Celebrity Tattoos – Robbie Williams

Robbie Williams, real name Robert Peter Williams, is not only a British pop sensation, but he is also no stranger to tattoos. His body has been turned into a canvas for tattoo art and he has examples of nearly every style imaginable somewhere on his body.

Robbie Williams is unquestionably the king of celebrity tattoos. He’s a real tat fan and depending on how you count them he has as many as 14 tattoos, including 7 word tattoos, some Beatles music, 2 swallows, a Christian cross, a Maori tribal, and a Celtic cross.
His first tattoo was a Pagan Celtic cross tattooed on his right hip. It was done during his time with Take That. He got it for his own protection because, as he said during an interview, “he’s got the devil inside him”.
Robbie also has a very large Maori tattoo on his left arm which is in a partial sleeve from his shoulder to halfway down to his bicep. It is a series of delicately rounded waves that are symbolic of the turns and twists in life. It is based on adjoining spirals and is a curvilinear tattoo which is very complex. This tattoo is meant to tell his life’s story.

He also has some old school designs tattooed on his abdomen such as a pair of swallows. Tattoos of swallows are symbols of loyalty and freedom. The tattoos were done in 2003.

Robbie has a transcription of the lyrics and notes to All You Need Is Love, a famous Beatle song, tattooed on his lower back.
Robbie calls the tattoo on his right under arm the “Christian” since it is a tattoo of Jesus on the cross with the Virgin Mary and some angels. This tattoo was done in 2000.

In addition, he also has a tattoo of an Eye of Horus which was meant to protect him from evil spirits. The Eye of Horus was the ancient falcon god of Egypt, the all Seeing Eye, son of Isis and Osiris. This tattoo was done in 2004.

On his opposing bicep and shoulder is a tattoo of a lions head. It is an extremely detailed concept of the features of a young male lion, which is the universal symbol of virility, masculinity, and power. Above the lion are the words “Elvis grant me serenity” and below it, the words “Born to be mild”. This tattoo is also meant to provide Robbie protection, just like the Horus and cross tattoos.

MSI presents first external graphic card

There have been all sorts of external devices both for laptops and for desktop computers, starting from external hard drives to DVD burners. However, has there ever been an external graphics card? We thought that the idea of external graphic card had been canceled out but MSI is first to present us the first external graphic card for laptops.

Laptops are great portable solutions for almost everything, but as you know despite their hardware power, they cannot handle complex multimedia such as latest games. Most of the laptops have integrated low-end graphic card that won’t be used for gaming while gaming laptops are quite expensive. Therefore, if you want to turn your standard laptop into a gaming solution you’ll need GUS also known as MSI’s Graphics Upgrade Solution.

In order to use this GUS you’ll have to connect it to you laptop via ExpressCard slot. Inside the box there’s a MSI Radeon HD 5670 1GB graphic card waiting to be used. You can put any other graphic card inside it but due to the power limitations, Radeon HD 5670 is the most that this device can use. Unlike other ExpressCard devices, this one uses more bandwidth than the other ones. MSI has announced that he will continue to produce external graphic cards and that they will be using USB 3.0 in future.

This is a great external graphic card made by MSI and if you want to try it on your laptop you can purchase it for $169 to $229.

Predator AG7750: New gaming solution from Acer

When it comes to gaming, it is clear that PC is the ultimate gaming platform. Its mostly because PC can be easily upgraded with the latest hardware and all that you need to enjoy the gaming to the fullest is money. Upgrades might not be cheap, but if you’re not the upgrade type you can simply purchase a whole new gaming solution.

The latest gaming PC worth considering is the Acer Predator AG7750. We don’t know why is it called Predator but in my opinion it should be called monster because it comes with incredible hardware specs. Under the hood of Predator AG7750 there’s one of the most powerful processors on the market, Intel Core i7 930 2.8GHz that will handle all of your multimedia demands with ease. Of course, if you want to enjoy gaming to the fullest you’ll need powerful graphic card and Acer Predator AG7750 has what you need. Predator is equipped with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 that will run all of the latest games in full frame rate. If for some reason one graphic card is not enough for you there are two additional slots available as well. In addition, this gaming monster comes with 12GB of DDR 3 RAM which is more that you can really use, but we’re not complaining. As for the storage space Acer Predator comes with 1.5 TB storage that will be enough for all your games.Overall, this is amazing gaming machine but there are no information about release date or pricing.

First human like robot that can chat

We are seeing more robots with each day and it’s really a surprise what they can do. Some of them are playing instruments, some of them are practical and some are just looking like us. Now for the first time we have a robot that will actually talk directly with us.

This robot is called Bina48 and it’s another human-like robot. It can make all sorts of human facial expressions because it is using 30 motors for that purpose but we have seen all of that before. Most interesting thing about this robot is that it has certain amount of artificial intelligence so it can actually chat with you. Although conversation with Bina48 won’t be the same like with a real human being it’s still a huge step forward when it comes to robotics. Chatting with Bina48 is similar to chatting with a online chatbot but in person since this robot is designed to look and act like one of its owners Bina Rothblatt. Interesting thing about this robot is that it’s actually just a robotic head with no body so conversation with it can be sometimes awkward because of it. In order to communicate with Bina48 you cannot simply talk to her face to face, instead you’ll have to use a specific microphone.

Although conversation with this robot might not be always natural since Bina won’t understand you and respond as it should in all cases it still a progress when it comes to robotics and artificial intelligence. Overall, Bina48 is an interesting robot and we’re hoping to see more robots like this in future.
